Did/Do your adoptive parents do a lot of pretending?

When they adopted you, you became part of their family. Be thankful that they think of you as theirs. When they say those things its because they care about you and you are their child. They are not discriminating. I'm sure they know you are your own person, but that doesn't stop them from worrying about you.
