Why haven't cesareans been perfected to the point where they are safer and less painful than l births?
I don't understand why in the year 2009, women are expected to give birth in the most barbaric and primitive way. l birth is very unpredictable and gruesome. Cesareans are also not pleasant, but at least c-sections are predictable and have the potential to be perfected to the point where they are superior to l births. In the last 20 years, there have already been a lot of advancements made in making cesareans safer and less risky. Would anyone ever expect you to p a kidney stone or get a root c without the maximum amount of pain relief available? Kidney stones are "natural" too. I don't understand why there is a "natural birth" movement instead of a movement towards making child birth easier, safer and less traumatic for women through progressive medicine and technology.
