Why is there a war in Iraq; in Jerusalem; in Somalia; in Lebanon?

I'm from SYRIA-America-Iraq-Jordan-Palestine & the war is so close its scary... Why doesn't anyone do anything to maintain the original peace of 1,000 years ago?
