Have any of you been offered to a Catholic Saint when you were born?

Well A Christian name is different to an offering to a Saint. When my mother was pregenant with me, she had offered me to St. Martin De Porres. Not many people I know are offered to a Saint. I was saved a few times when I was little although I would have died. St Martin, St Therese of Lisieux, St Francis of isi, Saint Marcellin Champagnat, Mary of La Vang, Mary of Ta Pao and St Dorothy of Caesarea. What does this mean?
