Is this typical of republicans to put the people and economy 2nd?

Corporate profits are high on Republicans list as usual, but they have also allied themselves with special interest groups such as Gun owners and the religious right. They attack most entitlement programs of the poor, elderly or unemployed while subsidizing big business and the banking industry.
